Arman, a writer blocked by the pressures of unexpected success, follows his girlfriend to the redwood forests of northern California. In this isolated landscape, he develops a friendship with an enigmatic treesitter and is soon caught in the struggle between those who make their living cutting timber and those who risk their lives to preserve nature. Torn between conflicting information and expectations, Arman must reach into his past for the key that will allow him to determine exactly where—and with whom—he stands. ODIN’S HORSE was the winner of the national EcoDrama Playwrights Festival and makes its professional World Premiere in this Infamous Commonwealth Theatre production.

ODIN'S REVIEWS

JEFF RECOMMENDED!
"Robert Koon's rueful and deeply humane look at environmentalism and emotional paralysis, Odin's Horse, is now receiving an admirably crafted world premiere with Infamous Commonwealth Theatre under Anna C. Bahow's pointed direction."
-Kerry Reid,
Chicago Tribune

"Infamous Commonwealth Theatre presents a riveting world premier of playwright Robert Koon's Odin's Horse. If you are looking for intimate and engaging theater delivered by a consistently beguiling ensemble, this is your show and Infamous Commonwealth is your company!"
-Venus Zarris,
Chicago Stage Review

"Odin's Horse pulls you in through its thoughtful even-handedness and shades-of-gray characters. Odin's Horse is already a winner script-wise, and Infamous Commonwealth's fine production only confirms it."
-Scott Morgan,
Windy City Times

"Odin's Horse is a slick, well-produced show...told well and by an adept cast. Anna C. Bahow does a great job of exploring the very large themes and technical demands of the script..."
-William Scott,
Newcity

"Koon is a master craftsmen who is deft at storytelling, character development and intelligent dialogue. This show is an engaging dramatization of a modern struggle to save the redwoods. It is also good theatre."
-Tom Williams,
Chicago Critic

"In an era when Sarah Palin's imaginary frontier still holds political sway, it's refreshing to see playwright Koon grapple earnestly with the paradoxes of rural America. Kathy Arfken's gorgeous, verdant set provides an invigoratingly layered backdrop...and Bahow's steady direction imbues individual scenes with a nuance and structure."
-Christopher Shea,
Time Out Chicago
